05/30/09 - SPRINGFIELD, MO - Sean Nevills lead the Springfield WolfPack with 7 rushes for 90 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 71-6 rout of the Junction City (Kan.) Tigers at Mediacom Ice Park.
Springfield scored the most points against an American Professional Football League (APFL) opponent in team history breaking the previous record of 70 points scored against the Missouri Minutemen on May 24th, 2008.
Brett Lovekamp caught 5 passes for 102 yards and two touchdowns including a 32-yard touchdown run late in the 4th quarter.
Alvin Johnson ran for two and caught one touchdown in the second half.
Kicker Chris Shiratto had a bid to tie his own APFL record 10th extra point stopped when his final attempt, with 10.7 seconds left in the 4th quarter, was blocked. Shiratto also set the record on May 24th, 2008 against Missouri.

05/09/09 - SPRINGFIELD, MO - The Springfield WolfPack improved their record to 2-1 with a 66-18 destruction of the Lincoln Tornadoes on Saturday night in Mediacom Ice Park.
You have to go back to May 24th, 2008 and the game against the Missouri Minutemen for the most points ever scored against a team. The WolfPack managed 70 points that game, but also had 69 points against Missouri on April 26th, 2008.

04/25/09 - SPRINGFIELD, MO - For the second time in two seasons the Springfield WolfPack have won their opening game at home in Mediacom Ice Park. This time it was an exciting 19-13 win over the visiting Florida Scorpions that went down to the final buzzer.

Coach Mike Burris says the team is ready to put a fun, prepared and energetic team on the field at home in Mediacom Ice Park starting April 25th against the Florida Scorpions.
The WolfPack will hold its Third Annual “Meet-And-Greet” event on the east rink at Mediacom Ice Park on Saturday, April 18th, starting at 5pm.
From 5pm to 5:30pm, fans will have the opportunity to step on the playing field to meet the WolfPack players, sign autographs and learn more about indoor football. At 5:30pm the team will have a Red on Black scrimmage to give fans a “sneak peek” of indoor football in action.
The WolfPack finish the first practice of the season on the fresh field.
03/30/09 - SPRINGFIELD, MO - It took all day on a Saturday, but the turf is down and the Springfield WolfPack are ready to practice. Able to workout for about a month before the start of the season is not what the team is used to.
Last season the WolfPack had just three days to get used to the new territory before stepping on the field.
"We barely had the carpet dry last year," said WolfPack center Joe Helms referring to the vacuum cleaning done the first time the surface is laid out.
The season opener will be 7pm on April 25th against the Florida Scorpions in Mediacom Ice Park.
03/23/09 - SPRINGFIELD, MO - The Springfield WolfPack Professional Indoor Football Team, a member of the American Professional Football League (APFL), will open their third indoor season at home on Saturday, April 25 th, 2009 against the Florida Scorpions in Mediacom Ice Park.
The WolfPack will play 6 home games at Mediacom Ice Park and 3 on the road, with an additional home game to be scheduled at a later date. All Saturday home games start at 7:05pm.
Springfield’s first four games of the 2009 season will be home games starting with the April, 25 th game versus Florida, then Saturday, May 2 nd versus the Iowa Blackhawks, Saturday May, 9 th versus the Lincoln Tornadoes, and Saturday, May 16 th versus the Kansas Koyotes.
The remaining home dates are May 30 th versus Lincoln and June 6 th versus Kansas. Travel dates are May 23 rd at Lincoln, June 20 th at Kansas, and June 27 th at Iowa.
WolfPack ticket prices will remain the same as last season. Gold, (front row) season tickets are $100, Red, Reserved season tickets are $58 and Black, General Admission season tickets are $45. Individual game day tickets in Gold are $15, in Red $9, and $7 for General Admission.
Individual game tickets will be available April 19 th at the Mediacom Ice Park Pro Shop Box Office during normal business hours.

“After a strong off season, we are looking forward to unveiling an improved WolfPack team,” said team co-owner Angela Edwards.
A new coaching staff will be part of the WolfPack’s improvements. Mike Burris, a former Springfield Rifle, has been named Head Coach and will coordinate the offense. Byron Kapica had been added to handle special teams. Steve Brown will be the defensive coach, Carl Thomas will manage the defensive line, and Timothy Sommerfield will be the assistant line coach.
“Only game time will tell, but Mike has come to the WolfPack with a new and exciting offensive plan. He has a good attitude and works well with the players, he will make a great coach,” said team co-owner Terry Edwards who retired from coaching last season to concentrate on team operations.
Notable WolfPack players returning for the 2009 season include quarterback Colby Hughes (6’4”, 215, Branson), receiver Brett Lovekamp (6’3” 190, Springfield), defensive end Anthony Teal (6’3” 260, Florida) who also played with Missouri State, safety Jonathan Frazier (6’1” 215, Springfield) and fullback Troy McMain (6’0” 215, Springfield).
Springfield finished the 2008 season at 5-5 and the 2007 season at 6-6, 5-6 in the APFL.
